Wagner Memorabilia and Popular Culture

This is an 130% enlargement of a picture manufactured by Liebig, the worldfamous producer of bouillon. Liebig gave beautiful cards with the bouillon package to its customers. Liebig even popularized Wagner's operas by printing a six-card series on every opera. This picture presents the last scene of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.

In the Wagner Museum in Bayreuth, there is an interesting kitsch and memorabilia room devoted only to Wagner playing cards, Wagner pipes and plastic statues, etc.

You can also view some Wagner postcards.
