The birds were in a large mixed flock of Grey-lag Geese Anser anser
and Canada Geese Branta canadensis. The flock contained also one
classical CanadaxGrey-lag hybrid, and one unidentified hybrid. The time to
check the flock was only a couple of minutes due to the approaching blizzard
and nightfall. In the field I noticed two birds, but the photographs showed
that there were four canada geese
with extra white on the forhead region. All 4 birds are shown in this photo.
One bird is on the left, two in the center, and one on the right end.
Linnut oleilivat isossa meri- ja kanadanhanhien sekaparvessa. Parvesta
löytyi myös klassinen merixkanadanhanhi, sekä yksi määrittämätön ristyemä.
Aikaa parven tarkistamiseen oli vain muutama minuutti lähestyvän ankaran
lumisasadetuiskun ja illanlaskun vuoksi. Maastossa huomasin kaksi
vaaleanaamaista lintua, mutta kuvista ilmeni etta lintuja olikin neljä.
Kaikki neljä näkyvät tässä kuvassa. Yksi lintu on vasemmalla, kaksi keskella
ja yksi oikealla.
