The research groups Foundations of Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Optics of the Department of Physics of the University of Turku combine their efforts to organize a small scale workshop on some of the ongoing research topics of the groups.

Scientific scope
We plan to discuss problems under the following topics:

Scientific Programme
The programme will consist of 14-16 lectures (40 +10 min each) given by our invited guests (10-12) and by some members of our local research groups. The lectures will be held at the Auditorium of the building Quantum. The workshop will be open also to other people. The preliminary programme of the workshop is here and the book of abstracts here.

Travel information

The location of the city:
Turku is located on the south-west  coast of Finland around 150 km west of Helsinki.

There are direct flights to Turku from Helsinki (20 min), Copenhagen (1h 35 min), and Stockholm (40 min). Most of the flights are operated by SAS (Star Alliance), Blue1, and Finnair (Oneworld).

Around 20 international airlines fly to Helsinki. There is bus connection from the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to the city center of Turku once an hour. The trip takes around 2 h 30 min and the bus timetable is available at
