Buffalo Airstation G54C configuration

WLA-G54C -54 Mbps Wireless Compact Repeater Bridge (with Ant. interface) (discontinued)
It has one RJ45 connector and an external 3.3V power brick.

Configuration

  1. Press Init-key until WLAN LED lights. This will reset the ROOT password
  2. Shut down the WLAN card of your PC.
  3. Connect G54C to your PC with a straight RJ45 cable.
  4. Set the IP of your PC 192.168.11.5
  5. Go to 192.168.11.1 with your normal net browser
  6. Log in as 'root' with no password
  7. Set the security. AES, WPA-PSK is a good choice
  8. Set the Name which your G54C is showing in the air (ESSID)
  9. Set the Root password
  10. Set all the other values
  11. Copy the settings to your PC, the name will be as_setting.bin
  12. Set the original IP of your PC and Deconnect the RJ45 cable
  13. Start the WLAN card of your PC
  14. Check that G54C can be seen in the air
  15. Check that your system is asking the ESSID. Otherwise your net will be open for anybody !
  16. Connect G45C to your router or what ever you are using
  17. Check and recheck.
