Most samples for this research have been provided by the following list of people

  • 1- Leptree ATOLep collection holdings, Maryland;

  • 2- Dr. Dan Janzen Noctuidae Collection (mostly from the Neotropical area);

  • 3- Dr. Marko Mutanen Noctuidae Collection, University of Oulu;

  • 4- Noctuidae Collection of Dr. Hans Löbel, Germany, mainly from the Australasian Region;

  • 5- many of the type genera/species by Dr. Laszlo Ronkay (Hungarian Natural History Museum);

  • 6- some type genera/species from Indonesian New Guinea and surroundig area by Dr. Rob de Vos (Department of Entomology, Zoölogisch Museum Amsterdam);

  • 7- almost all quadrifine species from Hong Kong have been covered by Dr. Roger C. Kendrick (Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden , Hong Kong);

  • 8- about 200 totally fresh Afrotropical noctuoids (in our opinion a gold mine indeed!) are provided by Dr Ugo DALL'ASTA from Entomology Section, Royal Museum for Central Africa, TERVUREN, Belgium;

  • 9- numerous species from the Indonesian portion of the island of Borneo, Kalimantan and also United Arab emirates by Dr. Erik J. van Nieukerken, curator of Lepidoptera Collection in Department of Entomology at National Museum of Natural History Naturalis, Leiden, Netherlands;

  • 10- two type genera and species provided by Dr. Alexej Matov from Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ZISP), St. Petersburg, Russia;

  • 10- many type species from Tanzania, Madagascar and SE Asia were collected and identified by Dr. Michael Fibiger, Sorø, Denmark;

  • 11- one type genera and species by Lief Aarvik, Section of Zoology, Natural History Museum, University of Oslo, Norway)
