I have worked in academia since 2009 in roles including research assistant, teaching assistant, post-doctoral researcher, lecturer, senior researcher, and adjunct professor. I joined the University of Turku as a research visitor in 2011 and, after six months, was offered a PhD position. During my PhD, I completed research visits to the University of Birmingham and Kingston University London, building lasting international collaborations. I am a member of the IEEE and a frequent reviewer for scientific journals and leading conferences.<\/p>\n

In addition to my academic work, I serve as a Senior Scientist at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK), developing solutions that accelerate the transition to a sustainable, carbon-neutral world. I have collaborated with companies such as Quva Oy, Rolls-Royce, and Kongsberg, and I have been involving in many projects funded by the Academy of Finland, Business Finland, Horizon Europe, and Tekes. My core expertise is applying artificial intelligence\u00a0to real-world problems. I can frame complex problems, analyze data, and design suitable techniques and algorithms to deliver practical solutions. I bring strong organizational and communication skills developed through international academic and industry experience. I am committed to rigorous, impact-oriented research and enjoy exploring beyond disciplinary boundaries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I am a Docent of Computer Science at the University of Turku (UTU). I also am working for\u00a0 Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) as a\u00a0 senior scientist from August 2023. I received my Ph.D. from the IT department at University of Turku, Finland and my M.Sc. from the school of computer engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology.\u00a0 \u00a0My research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and data analysis across applications such as remote sensing, and autonomous systems.. I have published more than 50 articles in journals and conference proceedings.<\/p>\n
