The last rays from the solar photosphere disk - kind of a multiple
diamond ring.

Chromosphere and Prominences / Kromosfääri ja protuberansseja
About 2 seconds after the previous image. The chromosphere is
visible as a pink arc in the top left. The very innermost corona is
visible as a faint white halo around the Sun. Red prominences are visible.

vaaleanpunaisena kaarena vasemmassa yläkulmassa. Sisin korona on
näkyvissä himmeänä valkoisena kehänä pimentyneen Auringon
ympärillä.
Details of Prominences / Protuberanssien yksityiskohtia
The tallest prominence on the top is about 40 400 km (25 100 mi) above the
solar photosphere ("surface"). The second tallest on the left is
26 900 km (16 700 mi).
Compare these to the diameter of the Earth (12 750 km, 7920 mi). Note also
the small prominences at the lower left and the corkscrew prominence
left of the big prominence.
Korkein protuberanssi - yläkulmassa ulottuu noin 40 400 km korkeuteen
Auringon pinnasta (fotosfääristä). Toiseksi korkeimmalla
protuberanssilla (vasemmalla) on silläkin korkeutta noin 26 900km.
Vertaapa näitä maan läpimittaan, 12750km. Huomaa lisaäksi
pienempiä protuberansseja vasemmassa alakulmassa, ja "korkkiruuvin"

For scale: the diameter of the Sun is approx 1.4 million km
(or 900 000 miles). Note the streamers pointing away from the Sun.

kilometriä. Huomaa ohuet kaasustreamerit, jotka osoittavat Auringosta

Outer Corona / Ulkokorona
On top of the dark lunar limb
I have added another image taken with a solar filter just before the
Moon started to move infront of the Sun. The following things can be noted:
The difference is size of the lonar and solar disks (light blue ring),
a sunspot close to the left edge of the Sun. Limb darkening of the Sun. Note
also the extent of the streamers.
