A very dark individual. Apparently a female, despite of the breast band. Speculum appears black.

Is this really a mallard? Why? Which sex is this bird?
Very plain colored head. Apparently a female bird. Speculum dark coppery. Head very plain, with no trace of an eyebrow or other facial patterns.
