We were shooting Gull photos by Aurajoki, Turku, when my son Aarni mentioned that actually a jackdaw is quite a pretty bird. After a minute or so he continued the discussion by telling that the white jackdaw is right there. Without moving from my spot I was able to take a few shots of the bird. It was feeding in a flock of normally colored jackdaws and separated from it after feeding. Note te pale areas and compare it to another white-spotted jackdaw. Shown are two photos of the right side of the bird as well as a distant photo of the left side.
Olin kuvaamassa lokkeja Turun Förin vieressä, kun poikani Aarni totesi että kyllä naakkakin on kaunis lintu. Noin minuutin kulutta Aarni jatkoi jutustelua että tuossa on kanssa se valkoinen naakka. Kuvasin linnun paikaltani, liikkumatta lainkaan. Lintu oli tavallisten naakkojen seurassa mutta erkani parvesta lentäen joen toiselle puolelle, minkä jälkeen kadotimme linnun. Huomaa vaaleat alueet ja vertaa sitä toiseen valkotäpläiseen naakkaan . Alla kaksi kuvaa linnun oikeasta puolesta, ja yksi kaukainen vasemmasta puolesta. Varitys vaikuttaa melko symmetriselle.
