Scale is shown in each image, the long horizontal bar is 10um (1um=1mm/1000), the thin line is 0.2um high, the thicker part the scale is 3um long and 1um high.
Some pictures show reddish magenta on one side of the microbe and green on the other side. This is not real color. However, there also appears to be truly green structures, which are likely to be chlorophylls.
First are shown some larger creatures (ciliates and flagellates), which are followed by microbes that are most likely cyanobakteria. Different forms of bacteria follow (the possibility of archaea are not exluded). At the end multimicrobe scenes are shown.

Jokaisessa kuvassa on mittakaava. Pitkä ohut viiva on 10 mikronia pitkä (1 um=1 mikroni=1 mikrometri =1/1000 millia), ohuen viivan korkeus on 0.2 mikronia. Paksu viiva on pituudeltaan 3 mikronia ja korkeudeltaan 1 mikronin.
Joissakin kuvissa on mikrobilla magentan värinen reuna ja vihreä vastakkainen reuna. Tämä on optiikan värivirhettä eikä mikrobin oikeata väriä. Joissakin mikrobeissa on kuitenkin selvästi vihreitä rakenteita. Nämä ovat useissa tapauksissa ilmeisimmin viherhiukkasia.
Alussa muutamia isoja elikoita (ripsieläimiä ja siimaeliöitä), sitten ilmeisiä sinileviä (syanobakteereita), sitten seuraa erilaisia bakteerin näköisiä otuksia (arkkien mahdollisuus myös emassa). Lopuksi erilaisia "sekakokoelmia" edellisistä.

4-7 um long. All these appear to be of the same type. Instrustions could be chloroplasts or suplhur.

4-7 um pitkiä. Kaikki allaolevat vaikuutavat samalle tyypille. "Valot" saattavat olla viherhiukkasia tai rikkikiteitä.

Anabaena sp

This types of bacteria showed green under transmission light.

Nämä bakteerit olivat vihreitä läpivalaisuvalossa.

The first one of this type of bacteria appeared light green under transmission light. No obvious heterocysts.

Ensimmäisen tyypinen vaikuutti vihertävälle läpivalaisu valossa. Ei kuitenkaan selviä heterokystejä.


Bacteria - spirochetes

The most wild looking bakteria. These were my first sphirochetes. The way these guys moved was that suddenly they started spinning very fast along their longitudinal axis, and then appearing as a shape of a spindle or a barrel (apprently different species) they moved very fast >200um in 1 sec, and then suddenly came to rest. Length and the number twists varied considerably. Note that the last spirochete shown was the largest (two last figures). The cause of structure in some of these spirochetes is not known.
Kaikkein vileimmän näköisiä bakteereita. Nämä olivat ensimmäiset näkemäni spirokeetat. Nämä veikkoset liikkuivat siten että ne alkoivat yhtäkkiä pyöriä pituusakselin ympäri. Tällöin ne näyttivät kehrimelle tai tynnysille - ilmeisesti eri lajit näyttivä erilaisille. Liike oli nopeaa jopa yli 200 mikronia sekunnissa. Yhtäkkiä ne pysahtyivät. Kokonaispituus ja kierteiden määrä vaihteli suuresti. Huomaa lopussa oleva pisin spirokeetta (kaksi kuvaa). Spirokeetoissa näkyvän "rakenteen" merkitystä en tiedä.

Long (20um) rather straight bacterium with some intrusions. Something tiny on the lower right corner (cocci? broken Anabaena sp?)
Varsin pitkä ja suoran puoleinen bakteeri, jossa jotain rakennetta sisällä. Oikeassa alakulmassa jotain pientä (kokkeja? vai rikkonainen Anabaena sp?)

These small rod shape bacteria have some pale intrusions at one end. Could it be sulphur in sulpur metabolising bacteria?
Näissä pienissä sauvamaisssa bakteeriessa on vaaleita kiteitä toiseesa päässä. Voisiko se olla rikkiä, ja nämä rikkiä metaboloivia bakteereja?

A long bacterium, or it seems more likely that this is a chain of 8 long basilli, possibly of the type shown earlier.

Pitkä bakteeri, tai ehkä ilmeisemmin kahdeksan bakteerin ketju, mahdollisesti samaa tyyppiä kuin aiemmien basillien yhteydessä esitetty.
