My research focuses on developing practical and statistically sound AI methods for natural-resource and environmental applications, including forestry, peatlands and agriculture. My work covers areas such as Bayesian optimization, deep learning, spatial modelling and multi-source data fusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At free time, I enjoy coding, reading mathematics and machine learning literature, floorball and tennis. I am also a bronze medalist in Finnish ballroom dancing (10-dance, 2007) and was part of the national team for many years.
