Juha R\u00e4ikk\u00e4 is a professor of practical philosophy at the University of Turku, Finland. He defended his doctoral dissertation at the University of Turku in 1992 after studying in the autumn term 1989 and in the spring term 1992 at the University of Miami, Florida. R\u00e4ikk\u00e4 was a post-doctoral researcher in Austin, Texas, during the spring term in 1994. He has visited the European University Institute in Florence many times (1999 – 2010), and in August 2005 he did research at the Finnish Institute for Classical Studies in Rome. R\u00e4ikk\u00e4 was a visiting scholar at the University of Pavia in May 2013, February 2016 and February 2020. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Turku from August 2017 to December 2019, and has been the Vice Dean since January 2020. R\u00e4ikk\u00e4 is a member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters, and presently the chair of the section for philosophy and aesthetics.<\/p>\n

R\u00e4ikk\u00e4\u2019s research interests focus on ethics and political philosophy. He has published papers on issues such as global justice, population ethics, group rights, privacy, just war theory, forgiveness, self-deception, compromise, concept of feasibility, conspiracy theory, and trust. R\u00e4ikk\u00e4\u2019s publications include a book titled Social Justice in Practice (Springer 2014) and a book (in Finnish) Philosophy of Conspiracy Theories (2021).
