The Language Centre’s English Writing Clinics will begin in the Autumn term of 2016!
Full information can be found from the English Writing Clinic Moodle Page
What are writing clinics?
The writing clinics will be regular, open, 2-hour clinics where students can get help and advice about writing in English from teachers and tutors.
It is also a time and space for students to find peer support, and to access the self-study library and resources.
The clinics are not lessons, as the teachers will not prepare activities, and students are free to come and go as they please. (Students cannot get credits for attending these clinics.)
When will they be?
The Writing Clinics will be held regularly on the last Friday of the month from 10.00 – 12.00, and the second Tuesday of the month from 12.00 to 14.00. The first hour will be divided into 10 minute time slots which are bookable in advance through the Writing Clinic Moodle space.
The dates for Autumn 2016 are:
September: Tuesday 13th and Friday 30th
October: Tuesday 11th and Friday 28th
November: Tuesday 8th and Friday 25th
December: Tuesday 13th
Where will they be?
The clinics are held in the self-study area of the Language Centre in Agora, with one-to-one sessions in rooms 221 and 207.
There are tables, and a few computers for access to the internet, but students should bring their writing with them either on paper or on a device.
In the self-study area there are English language, grammar and writing books and resources (students cannot take these books away with them).
Can I attend online?
The FRIDAY clinics are also available online, via Adobe Connect Pro.
Bookable times will be availbale via the Writing Clinic open Moodle page, where students will also find the link to enter the online clinic.
