I am working on supernovae using physics of radiation and fluid as well as using spectroscopic and polarimetric observations. Supernovae are important objects in the history of the Universe. They are related not only to stellar death but also to stellar birth and evolution. Unlike the most phenomena in the Universe, supernovae happen in the time scale of humans such as ~100 days, which enables us to, as a reality, feel the energy of the Universe and the fact that the Universe is changing. “We can understand phenomena that seem to be impossible to be understood, using human brains (physics). Moreover, such amazing phenomena beyond our imagination are real”. These facts brought me to the world of astrophysics. I would like to join “the ultimate intellectual game”, i.e., a game to solve mysteries of the Universe using various types of hints given by the Universe. I hope to be like researchers around me, who can understand the essential physics for a wide range of phenomena, just using blackboard calculations. Except playing with the Universe, my hobbies are traveling, walking in nature, collecting stones, playing sports (baseball, skiing, swimming), cooking and adventures.

Affiliation

National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ), Japan

Employment history

2025.09-now : Project assistant professor (NAOJ Fellow) @
NAOJ, Japan

2025.09-now : Visiting researcher @ University of Turku, Finland

2021.04-2025.09 : Postdoctoral researcher @ University of Turku, Finland

2020.11-2021.03 : JSPS Overseas Research Fellow @ University of Turku, Finland (Host: Dr. Hanindyo Kuncarayakti)

2019.04-2020.11 : JSPS Overseas Research Fellow @ ESO, Germany (Host: Dr. Ferdinando Patat)

2017.04-2019.03 : JSPS research Fellow (DC2) @ Kyoto University, Japan

Education

2016.04-2019.03 : Ph.D. in astronomy, Department of Astronomy,
Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University (Advisor: Prof. Keiichi Maeda)
PhD thesis: “Circumstellar Environments of Supernovae”

2014.04-2016.03 : M.Sc. in astronomy, Department of Astronomy,
Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University (Advisor: Prof. Keiichi Maeda)
                                            Master thesis:「星周物質から迫る Ia 型超新星」

2010.04-2014.03 : B.Sc. in science, Faculty of Science,
                                            Kyoto University (Bachelor of Science)

I am a project assistant professor (NAOJ fellow) at National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) in Japan.
