I am Veli Virmajoki, a senior researcher at the Finland Futures Research Centre (FFRC) and a docent at the University of Turku.

My work focuses on the futures of science and universities, and how these developments impact society. I use my background in the philosophy of science to develop tools for estimating possible futures, aiming to understand science within its broader social, cultural, and natural contexts​.

My research includes analyzing strategic foresight the foundations of futures thinking. My goal is to integrate theoretical insights with practical applications to help shape a positive future for science and society.
