I am an AI researcher specializing in machine learning, remote sensing and spatial data. My research focuses on developing practical and statistically sound AI methods for natural-resource and environmental applications, including forestry, peatlands and agriculture. My work covers areas such as Bayesian optimization, deep learning, spatial modelling and multi-source data fusion.

At free time, I enjoy coding, reading mathematics and machine learning literature, floorball and tennis. I am also a bronze medalist in Finnish ballroom dancing (10-dance, 2007) and was part of the national team for many years. I speak Finnish, English, Russian and also now learning German.
