Research

My general fields of research are linguistics and philology, and my main areas of interest are:

  • pragmatics & the explanation of actions
  • historical linguistics & the history of English
  • code-switching & multilingualism

I combined these three to varying degrees in my PhD project, where I focused particularly on theoretical and methodological questions. Due to my interests and background, I also work with Latin and Greek, and I am planning to do more independent work on them in the future. I have also done some work on the learning of English phonetics & pronunciation. See the Projects page for more information on my current research and the Publications and Presentations pages for documentation.
