Turku can be reached by plane, train or boat. The main two options are to fly to Turku or to Helsinki. The airport in Turku is small and there are not many flights there but it is of course closer. The airport at Helsinki is much larger and there is an hourly bus connection to Turku.
Below we give some hints on getting to the city center from various places. For all the public transportation inside Turku as well as for walking instructions, see Brahe Journey Planner, a nice city map and a map with important places marked. Note than when you use the journey planner, you might need to give the street addresses of the places you put in or point the relevant places on the map; it does not necessarily recognize hotel names etc.
From Turku Airport: Take bus number 1 to get to the market place. Timetables
From Helsinki-Vantaa Airport: Take an Expressbus from bay 13-14 to Turku, and leave the bus either at Turku bus station or at the bus stop near the cathedral. Most likely you'll have to change bus near IKEA in Espoo. However, the bus driver will give instructions. Timetables
From Helsinki railway station: Take a train to Turku, either to main railway station or to Kupittaa railway station. Timetables
From Helsinki bus station: Take a bus to Turku, and leave the bus either at Turku bus station or at the bus stop near the cathedral. Choose a direct bus if possible. Timetables
From Stockholm by boat: See Viking Line or Silja Line for boats. Once you have reached the harbour in Turku, take bus number 1 to get to the market place. Timetables
Note: The conference venue has changed!
The lectures will take place in the lecture hall XVII, which is in the second floor of Quantum Building, number T7 (in G5) in the zoomable campus map . The walking distance between the city center (and thus most hotels) and Quantum is less than two kilometers. If you wish to use a bus, the nearest bus stop is called "TYKS yliopisto" (which you can write as your destination to the journey planner linked below) and it is marked to the map linked here.
Note that Quantum is on top of the university hill. When you have walked up the stairs marked to the map (note there are stairs at the end of both Kaivokatu and at Kiinanmyllynkatu, so please be careful!), the Quantum building is the first building on your right hand side.
The registration desk will be in front of the main lecture hall in the second floor. Moreover we shall have two smaller lecture halls XVI (in first floor) and XVIII (in third floor) available in the afternoons for collaborative work.
